Can We Prevent Dementias Now? Scientific Symposium

Background: Dementia means a decline in the ability to think, remember and act resulting in a loss of self-sufficiency. Two main pathologies afflict the aging brain, vascular (blood vessels) and Alzheimer’s. A convergence of developments makes Canada a unique country to begin preventing Dementia. New approaches, tools and partners will yield further evidence for preventing some Dementias in the immediate future.
Event Information: This full-day event is scheduled from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. allows guests the opportunity to learn about the development of new approaches, tools and partnerships in the prevention of some dementias. The event will consist of three themed panels

- Convergent Developments
- From Plans to Action.
To conclude the Symposium, a public forum will discuss ways YOU can prevent your Dementia risk. Symposium speakers represent researchers, clinicians, and community members from around the world who are experts in their fields.
