I am walking for my family. My grandmother Majka Siha was a doctor in Sarajevo, and lived to 89, with my aunt and uncle and their family. My grandfather Peter was a doctor in Boston. He lived to 86. His three brothers and sister all died with dementia. His mother got dementia early and died much younger. Anyone can get dementia, no matter how long they live or how much they study. I am walking to remember the wonderful lives of my relatives, and all the people who helped them when their time came to need help. Thank you to the Oxford Alzheimer’s Society for all the things they do to help families living with dementia.
