In-Home Recreation

In-Home Recreation Program

Staff and Client:
Consists of weekly visits for a duration of 12 weeks. This program offers personal visits from a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist, who will facilitate a variety of person-centered recreation and leisure-based activities, in the comfort of your own home.

Eligible clients will be scheduled once a week, for a time slot of 1.5 hours. The day and time will be consistent each week. Time slots available include: 9:30am, 11:30am, or 1:30pm.

After completion of the 12-week program, the Therapeutic Recreation Specialist will provide the client and care partner with leisure education opportunities and/or further recreation opportunities within the Alzheimer Society SouthWest Partners.

Volunteer & Client:
Consists of a 1 hour (virtual) or 2 hour visit, matched with a trained volunteer. The volunteer and the client meet weekly, to engage in a variety of person-centered recreation and leisure-based activities.

Regardless of the delivery method chosen, the In-Home Recreation Coordinator will promptly connect with the client and care partner to complete a recreation and leisure assessment. This assessment will help develop a holistic approach to implementing recreation and leisure pursuits.
