In past years I walked in honour of my Grandpa George. This year I was in memory of him and in honour of the caregivers who supported him until his end of life. When I walk this year I am thinking of my late Grandma Rachel who cared for him until her end of life, my mom Jan, Aunt Julia and uncle Rick who cared for him with such admirable dedication and compassion for years through the many challenges this illness brought. This year I also I walk in honour of all the front line staff who support families like ours on this journey who often don’t get the credit or recognition they deserve.
